fordprefect.jpgThis is a atuomobille that the people in the late 1920's used. The first cars built were by Henery Ford. you can guess the rest. That is why know days most cars are built by the "Ford compony" By the late 1920's the automobile indestries had made a firm establishment in itself that it was the most popular mode of transportaition. The reason why it is that way is cause theese cars are cheap and they got better and better each year.
The only bad thing is that they had no roads built that the cars could drive on. they only had gravel roads for horses to travel on. so then they had to redo there roads so the new cars could drive on them. Back then the goverment paid for the roads to be built. they paid for 96% of the roads. While the horse drawn traffic was most succesfull the new cars were bringing worry that there were going to be new roads were the horses couldnt be. only 1 in 13 families owned a car in the early parts of the 1920's. in the later stages of it 4 out of 5 families had one. That is almost a 90% Increase in the 1920's. that is telling you that the cars in this time period are becoming more and more afficiant so that the people are buying them. this is some information that i found on ford in the 1920's. Between used car sales to lower income families, and attractive financing options on new cars for the middle class, Ford began to see a decline in sales. After resisting change for several months, Ford finally chose to shut down production from May to November 1927 to design a new car and re-tool his factories.Ford sold 300,000 Model A's before the first one appeared on the market. It quickly became the most popular car, but the unplanned shutdown had cost Ford plenty. With over 40 other companies making cars in 1929, compitition began to increase in everything that they did.
This information is how it affected the way people whent about ere daily lives. The automobile changed the way people worked, conducted their business, and shopped for needs and wants. Doctors were among the first to buy cars, which made it easier for them to make housecalls. Police officers could now answer calls more quickly than on foot or horseback.Cars also changed how people spent their leisure time. It gave us easy access to the world beyond our neighborhoods, our cities, and even our states. With a car, some extra income, and more leisure time, motor vacations became popular.
